Public access to new FamilySearch

FYI, Just got this email:

We invite you to be one of the first members of the public to come in and use the new FamilySearch website (new.familysearch.org). FamilySearch is rolling out this website to the public gradually, in this initial phase space is limited. If you are interested, please act quickly. Just click the link below to register.

As a FHC volunteer I was invited to use the New Family Search website a
few months ago and so far I have advanced my genealogy by 3 sets of
distant grand parents. I've found two new cousins and am really excited
about the site. I would suggest that you take advantage of this offer it
is a great improvement (speaking only of my quick results).

You're right I found a long lost greatgrandmother; however, what did you use for documentation? I didn't see any film number to cite. Thank you,

I would take the date (if given) and do a film search to find out what
film corresponds to that date and then either order the film or look to
see if the film is possibly online already.

confirmation of the info is still essential.

FamilySearch - Browsing Images

Joseph, many people don't know how to get to the scan files where they
can actually search for the records on their own:

A. Go to Familysearch.org
B. Go to “Browse by Location”
C. Press the “USA, Canada, and Mexico” link

On the "Historical Records Collections," go down the page to:

Mexico, Catholic Church Records
Mexico, Chiapas, Catholic Church Records, 1558-1978
Mexico, Civil Registration, 1860-1950
Mexico, Guanajuato, Catholic Church Records, 1576-1984
Mexico, Jalisco, Catholic Church Records
Mexico, Morelos, Catholic Church Records, 1598-1969
Mexico, Nayarit, Catholic Church Records, 1596-1967
Mexico, Puebla, Catholic Church Records, 1545-1970
Mexico, San Luis Potosí, Catholic Church Records, 1586-1970
Mexico, State of Mexico, Catholic Church Records

To the right of each category, you will find "Browse Images."

As an example, go to “Mexico, Catholic Church Records,” then:

A. To the right of that link, press “Browse Images”
B. You will see a list of the Mexican states
C. Press “Aguascalientes”
D. For Calvillo records, press on the “Calvillo” link
E. You will then pick the appropriate parish and choose the group of
years and type of event that you want (bautismos, defunciones,
matrimonios, etc.)
F. Scan through the record page by page or choosing the page number
that you find appropriate to your search.

The scan files are not complete collections yet, but some states are
near completion, such as Aguascalientes, Sonora, Chihuahua and Sinaloa.
Jalisco and Zacatecas have a way to go yet.
