Question Regarding Sombrerete

By Alice_Campos | Fri, 2012-11-30 10:45

Hello Researchers,

I am interested in viewing church entries that would pertain to people living around Sombrerete, Zacatecas in the 1620-40's. The earliest records I see on Familysearch start in around 1678. There weren't distinctive state lines during that era, and everything in that mining region sort of blends together, so where do I go for church entries? I would think everything was under a certain jurisdiction.

Thanks,

Alice

You might want to try Zacatecas, being the major city in the area. Some of those Sombrerete folks may have gone there for sacraments.
